Meeting Notices

Per Open Meeting Law, meeting notices of local public bodies should be received and posted by the City Clerk no later than 48 hours before the meeting, not including Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays.

Public meeting notices should be submitted to the Clerk's Office no later than one half hour before close of business to allow time for processing and can be submitted via email, in-person, or by mail.

If you chose to submit your posting via email, please do not email postings to a specific staff person in the Clerk's Office but instead use the shared email address to ensure your posting will be received in a timely manner.

Postings will be published on the City Calendar online and available for viewing in the City Clerk's Office. If a meeting is cancelled, please notify the Clerk's Office so the calendar can be updated. Any revisions should also be submitted to the Clerk's Office. It is the responsibility of boards and committees to check the calendar to ensure their meeting notices have been posted.

The sample meeting notices below can be used for City of Amesbury public bodies. There are separate templates for in-person meetings and for virtual meetings.

Please see the below checklists for additional information or contact the City Clerk's Office with questions.
