As of  April 27, 2023, the role of Traffic and Transportation Commision has ended with the acceptance of Bill No. 2022-181, an Ordinance to amend the City of Amesbury Traffic and Parking Regulations Article XII - Authority & Duties of the Traffic and Transportation Commission to dispose of the Traffic and Transportation Commission of its role and responsibilities to the City of Amesbury Traffic and Parking Regulations.

How to Report Traffic & Transportation Concerns

Police Department

The following items should be referred directly to the Amesbury Police Department. Constituents can email police@amesburyma.gov for assistance.  Speeding car

Public Works

The following items should be referred directly to the Public Works Department. Constituents can use the See Click Fix app.25 mile per hour speed limit sign

  • Non-regulatory signs 
  • Crosswalks
  • Speed limit signage (25 mph related) 


City Council Planning & Development Subcommittee

After initial research and discussion with the Police Department, a constituent may request legislative action by City Council on the following items. Constituents can attend a subcommittee meeting of Planning & Development on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the City Hall Auditorium. 

  • No parking signs – permanent
  • Truck Traffic Restrictions
    1. If a constituent is seeking all truck traffic be restricted from a roadway 
  • Change in traffic pattern/roadway alterations – permanent 
  • Amendments to the Traffic and Parking Regulations adopted in Bill No. 2015-077 and subsequently amended in Bill No. 2015-081, Bill No. 2019-074 and Bill No. 2022-059.
