Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding Workshop

Thursday, December 8, 2022

The City of Amesbury invites you to attend a workshop on December 8th to discuss the City’s application for 2022/2023 Community DevelopmAmesburyCommunityEconomicDev.LogoVert.RGBent Block Grant (CDBG) funding. The funding round is opening soon, and we would love your feedback on how to craft Amesbury’s CDBG application to continue meeting the needs of our residents. During the workshop, we will also discuss the potential reallocation of funding from the City’s 2021 CDBG program so we can assist residents with rent and utility needs.

The workshop is being held in two sessions on Thursday, December 8th, 2022 in the City Hall Auditorium located at 62 Friend St. in Amesbury. The first session will be held from 3:30-4:40 pm, and the second session will be from 4:45 to 6:00 PM. The 2 sessions are identical in content but will provide more options for people to attend based on their schedules.

The workshop will provide an overview of eligible activities under the CDBG Program and allow you to provide feedback about the type of projects that will allow Amesbury to maximize the positive impacts of this funding in the community. There are eight categories of eligible activities. The city’s application for funding may include a wide variety of projects in any or all of these categories:

  • Housing rehabilitation or development
  • Micro-enterprise or other business assistance
  • Infrastructure
  • Community/public facilities
  • Public social services
  • Planning
  • Removal of architectural barriers to allow access by persons with disabilities
  • Downtown or area revitalization

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you at one of the sessions on Thursday, December 8th, 2022
